Vancouver Florist - My Favourite Hydrangea
My Favourite Hydrangea
Hydrangeas are shrubs of am azing beaty and diversity. In gardening, hydrangeas are valued for their variety of inflorescence shapes, wide range of colours, large curly leaves, interesting bark, as well as for their unpretentiousness and abundant flowering. Hydrangeas present an unusual stunning spectacle in the fall, when on one plant you can simultaneously see buds, seed heads and leaves of different colours.
The following tips will help extend the life of cut hydrangea flowers:
- before placing the hydrangea in a vase, cut its stem obliquely a couple of centimeters upward;
- free the lower part of the stem from leaves, as they can cause intensive bacterial growth;
- fill the vase with water in such an amount that you do not have to top it up later – hydrangea do not like this;
- place the bouquet in a place protected from brings sun and draft.
You can revive drooping flowers by cutting their stem again. When choosing a place to plant this flower, you need to take into account that hydrangea does not like scorching sunlight and drafts.
